Prison Ministry

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.  And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.  Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'
(Mat 25:31-40 ESV)

February 14

"It was a privilege to be in the Montgomery County Prison on January 31 and February 7.  Seventeen women walked into the room where we met.  Most of them carried their Bibles and seemed happy to be there.

From our hymns, we learned that Jesus' death on the cross paid for our sins.

God created man to honor, serve and fellowship with Him.  We sin by doing what God commanded us not to, or by not doing what He has told us to do.

In John 3, Jesus told Nicodemus that 'Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  As Moses liefted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life.'

Some of the ladies gave evidence that they were born again.  Through sin in their lives, they are where they are today.

In John 4, we learned that Jesus said unto the woman of Samaria, 'I am the Messiah, they that worship Me must worship Me in spirit and in truth.'

Our prayers are that their hearts will be opened to these truths."

Our prison ministry is an extension of Valley View Bible Church, providing a regular presence in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.  Working in cooperation with the prison chaplain, our teams strive to apply doctrinally rich truths to desperately needy lives.
  • Weekly (men's ministry) - Each Wednesday evening we have the opportunity to minister to the male residents of the correctional facility by bringing a time of Bible study and prayer.
  • Monthly (women's ministry) - On the first Sunday of each month, our team has the opportunity to minister in a more lengthy session to the female residents of the correctional facility by bringing a time of worship, Bible study and prayer.
