5You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
(Deu 6:5-9 ESV)
From the beginning, God has linked love for Him with His word. The more of God's word that we keep in front of us on a regular basis, the greater our chances of loving and obeying our great God. Besides the regular preaching services, Valley View focuses on getting adults into God's word through the Sunday School hour, and through smaller Bible studies.
Adult Sunday School ![]() Beginning in March, in the Sunday School hour, our adults will be going through the book of Daniel. Join us for this exciting study that will remind us how we ought to live as the end draws near.
The adult Sunday School class meets at 9:30 every Sunday morning in the church auditorium. Men's Bible Study
About every six weeks our men meet over coffee on a Saturday morning to wrestle through the issues that uniquely threaten our status as disciples. Between these men's breakfasts, we meet together in teams to study God's Word with an accountability partner. Currently, we are going through the book of 1st Timothy, using Dr. Warren Wiersbe's commentary as an aid. Our next breakfast is scheduled for March 27. See Pastor to be teamed up with a partner, or just come to our breakfast on March 27.
The men's breakfast and Bible study meets at 8:00 a.m. in the church basement. (See calendar for dates)
Ladies' Bible Study![]() Every other Thursday morning our ladies get together to examine God's expectations of godly mothers, wives and widows. This study is uniquely cross-generational, allowing the younger women to glean from the perspectives of the older women of the church in a Titus 2 relationship. Currently, we are going through Carolyn Custis James' book, When Life and Beliefs Collide, a study that argues for the knowledge of God to become our rudder as we navigate life's storms. The ladies' Bible study meets every other Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the church classroom across from the nurseries. A nursery is provided. (See calendar for dates) |
