Biblical preaching's authenticity is significantly tarnished by contemporary communicators who are more concerned with personal relevance than with God's revelation.
Richard L. Mayhue

At Valley View, "Scripture is our content; culture is our context." With this goal in mind, we seek to teach and preach God's word expositionally. Richard Mayhue explains expository preaching this way: Exposition presupposes an exegetical process (i.e., the study and interpretation of the text):
  1. To extract the God-intended meaning of Scripture, and
  2. An explanation of that meaning in a contemporary way.

In other words, at Valley View, God's Word still matters . . . TODAY!

The Book of Haggai
The Israelites who returned to the Promised Land had little to rejoice about, especially as they looked upon the ruins of their temple  that which symbolized God's presence & God's blessing.  The exhortation of this little book is exactly what we need at the opening of the year (or really, any time!)  "Put God First!"
